The Open Water Diver course offered by Scuba Schools International (SSI) is a scuba diving certification program designed for individuals who have little or no prior diving experience.
The open water course typically consists of a combination of classroom sessions, pool training, and open water dives. It is divided into three days.
What you get from our Open Water Dive Course
During the classroom sessions, students learn the basic principles of scuba diving, such as dive planning, equipment selection , underwater communication, and emergency procedures.
In the confined water sessions, students practice and become comfortable with the skills they will need to use when diving, such as buoyancy control, breathing techniques, and underwater navigation.
After completing the classroom and confined water sessions, students will typically go on a minimum of four open water dives with our SSI-certified instructor.
These dives will take place in the amazing dive sites between Amed and Tulamben.
During the open water dives, students will apply the skills they learned in the classroom and confined water sessions, as well as explore the underwater environment and marine life.
Upon successful completion of the Open Water Diver course, students will be certified to dive independently with a dive buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters.
